Imperial Glass was created in 1901 in Bellaire, Ohio. They were the largest American handmade glass industry due to the diversity in the styles of glassware. The National Imperial Glass Collectors Society was created in memory of Imperial and their workers that produced the most elegant glassware all those years. This organization allows collectors to get reference books in order to recognize if the Imperial glass art is authentic or just a reproduction because this glassware is highly prized. Imperial glass has been very popular because of the creativity and craftsmanship of the workers.
Here are some of the Imperial blown, pressed, cut and artistry glassware: Carnival, Candlewick, Vintage Grape, Pillar Flute, and Peachblow, Collector Crystal and much more. In order to collect Imperial Glass, you can get it from antique stores, auctions, shops, eBay or flea markets. The National Imperial Glass Collectors Society owns The National Imperial Glass Museum, which displays over 2000 handmade glass pieces made by the Imperial Glass Company.
Imperial Glass is one of the most elegant lines of glass due to the base color shapes and stretch effects. This line of art glass possesses the highest qualifications by which all glasses have compared. Most of the art glass has been made from simply bowl molds. All the pieces were put aside for shaping and then heated, attached to a metal ring and later removed. All the art glass pieces have the Imperial name mark on the bottom. Some art glass may not have the mark, but the size, shape and distinctive art glass line make it officially Imperial glass.
